WORLD FAMOUS DUO PETROF IN CONCERT IN NEW YORK CITY PRESS RELEASE TO DOWNLOAD
New York, NY – March 22, 2010 - On Tuesday March 16 the world famous
Duo PETROF performed in concert at the
Consulate of the Czech Republic in the
Bohemian National Hall in New York City. Mexican pianists of Russian descent
Anatoly Zatin and
Vlada Vassilieva, the Duo PETROF, has performed at some of the most important concert venues in Mexico, United States, Asia and Europe.
Playing to a capacity crowd, the Duo PETROF performed 20th Century Piano Music by
Casadesus,
Debussy,
Martinu,
Poulenc and
Slonimsky. Performing on two grand pianos, responding to cheers and resounding applause, the Duo PETROF was called back for three curtain calls.
The concert was sponsored by the
Petrof Piano Manufactory, the last family owned and operated piano manufacturer in Europe in conjunction with
Frank & Camille Fine Pianos of Long Island, NY and was held in conjunction with The Consulate of the Czech Republic and the Bohemian National Hall.
Since 1864, Petrof has built pianos by hand for five generations in Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic and has become a much sought after and revered handmade piano from Europe. The Duo PETROF has performed on Petrof pianos since 2008. Representing Petrof at the concert was
Al Rich, President and CEO of
Petrof USA and
Joseph Bednar, Northeastern representative for Petrof USA. Bednar was the Master of Ceremonies for the event.
DUO PETROF
Anatoly Zatin is the winner of international music competitions and a performer at festivals in Russia, Korea, Italy and Hungary. Awarded the UNICEF Medal of Honour for his activities as pianist and conductor he has toured Sweden, Norway, Deutschland, Finland, England, France, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Japan, China, Korea, United States and Mexico on numerous occasions, performing at many of the world’s most important concert venues. Graduated as Doctor of Musical Arts at the San Petersburg’s Conservatory of Music, he is presently Chairman of the Music Department of the Fine Arts Institute of the University of Colima, Mexico.
Vlada Vassilieva has performed at the principal venues of Mexico, Russia, Ukraine, Austria, Italy, France, United States of America and Canada. A Laureate of international competitions in Mexico, Unites States, Canada and Ukraine, she has been awarded Honorific Mentions at competitions in The Netherlands and Italy, as well as a performing fellowship by the National Foundation for Culture and Arts in Mexico.
